Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ability of machines to adapt to new and emerging situations, problem-solve, answer questions, create plans, and perform other intelligent functions typically associated with human beings. AI is transforming various industries, and education is no exception. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study, 120 pre-service was randomly selected as sampled. Data were collected through Questionnaire and was analysed using Descriptive Statistics; Frequency, Percentage and Mean.

The results show that artificial intelligence contribute to the learning of the pre-service teachers with 76.7% (x =1.23). the results further established that pre-service teachers are aware of artificial intelligence but lack the knowledge of it use, while affordability of devices which artificial intelligence will be used on and cost of internet connectivity limits the pre-service teachers' access to it use. More awareness with knowledge of it use, subsidising the cost of artificial intelligence use, fight against resistance to change and providing training and support for educators among others were recommendations made for the study.
